In most everyone's lifetime enters a person that has high impact on them. For me Woody Cherry was one of those persons. When I joined the fire department it didn't take long to find out just what kind of person Woody was. It was apparent from day one who he was and what he stood for..as we all know Woody didn't believe in "gray" areas. He was a perfectionist..always wanting things done as they should be...the right way.. and never taking the shortcuts. He was a true friend and confidant..one you could trust with your life, as many times, fellow firefighters have. There are so many things I could say here...but if you look to your left and right here today the person beside you would tell you the same. I am grateful and proud to be called his friend as he valued friendships more than anything on earth...except for his love for his family and his Lord. .Myself and fellow firefighters at Eastover Fire Department are proud to have served with such a man. His devotion to the department and community will be missed terribly.Although we grieve today in his passing we all know he is up there above...probably asking God which lake is best to try first. And I hope one day to be fishing with him again. We love you man. Michael Mason Eastover Fire Department
